FIRE ALARM ENGINEER

NORTH WEST LONDON

Fortus Recruitment are a recruitment company that specialise in placing people within the repairs & maintenance industry.

We are currently working on behalf of a Local Authority.

I am now looking for a Fire Alarm Engineer that has installation and reactive repairs experience. My client offers further training to build on your existing knowledge within the field.

General Duties/ Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide day to day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts.
2. Respond to emergency callouts and carry out any remedial works as required.
3. Carry out asset verification.
4. Install replacement/additional equipment.
5. Take part in the on-call rota.
6. Conduct site surveys as required.
7. Training of apprentices.
8. Act at all times in a professional and diligent manner, considering the needs of the client.
9. Service, maintain and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting systems, Nurse Call and Access Control in accordance with the relevant British Standards.
10. Correctly complete engineer service reports.
11. Report deficiencies or deviations in systems.

Skills/Qualifications:

1. Good understanding of the British Standards BS 5839 and BS 5266.
2. FIA Level or equivalent.
3. At least 1 year of industry experience.
4. Attention to detail.
5. Able to communicate on all levels.
6. A full UK Driving License.
7. Previous Fire Alarm Experience and knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
8. An understanding of Health and Safety Regulations within the workplace.
