We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our friendly Acute Medical Unit at William Harvey Hospital. You will be working with our wide team of physicians and nurses in this busy AMU.
East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust is one of the largest Trusts in England and is situated in the heart of the “Garden of England.” The Trust has two Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), at Canterbury and Dover and two co-located UTC, one at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate and the other being at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
Currently we have a Technician post available within the AMU at William Harvey Hospital. This post is for a band 2 Care Support Worker, focusing on giving the best personal care for the patients and their families. The post holder must have a willingness to work across UEAM floor and must be aware of the need to undertake shift work to cover the needs of the service; this includes working nights, weekends and public holidays. We welcome applicants with customer care experience, a good command of written and spoken English, some basic IT skills and a caring and willing attitude; this post is a great opportunity to join employment with the National Health Service one of the world’s largest healthcare providers.
Providing personal care to our patients to assist them through their journey of being unwell to recovery and being able to return home. This personal care will include washing, toileting, mobilising with support, helping them with their meals and feeding them when required. Supporting the nurses within the area to provide great care.
The HCSW undertakes fundamental personal care duties including: bathing; toileting; dressing; support with meals and assisting patients with their appearance. HCSW will work as part of a team to give high quality care for patients in the hospital setting.
A smile is also a vital part of this role.

The ability to converse easily and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for all customer facing roles.
