Where I'd work: Bradford/Hybrid Working

Work type: This is a permanent role, working full time, 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Careers and Funded Learning Advisor - Graduates, Undergraduates and Higher Level Apprentices to join the People Team at Yorkshire Water. You will support the Funding Learning Lead delivering funded learning programmes including (but not exclusive to) the Yorkshire Water Graduate Management Programme, industry placement years and supporting the delivery of degree apprenticeships.

Where you fit in:

As our Early Careers & Funding Learning Advisor you will support the Funding Learning Lead to deliver funded learning programmes including (but not exclusive to) the Yorkshire Water Graduate Management Programme, industry placement years and supporting the delivery of degree apprenticeships. You will act as a main point of contact and subject matter expert for our Graduate and Undergraduate programmes, ensuring compliance and processes are prioritised in each learner experience. This includes coaching support and pastoral care.

You will upskill managers and workplace buddies/mentors around Graduate and undergraduate programmes (as well as higher level apprenticeships) and their role within in and providing support where needed to deliver them.

You will work closely with our university partners and other education providers in this field to support Yorkshire Water being recognised as an employer of choice for internships, industry placements, Graduate Programmes and roles, linking this activity with colleagues from across Yorkshire Water to build relationships and credibility.

You will attend university, academic and careers events to support all funded learning programmes including Graduates, Apprentices and work experience. You will support on the support recruitment activities for funded learning programmes relevant to own work area (Graduates, Undergraduates and Higher Level Apprentices) providing feedback where appropriate.

You will also work alongside other Early Careers colleagues to add value to all learners on programme within the Funded Learning arena including apprentices and work experience.

What skills and qualifications you will need:

  • You will have previous experience of delivering graduate activities and experience of working with Apprentices and associated funding rules
  • Previous experience of mentoring/coaching young people
  • Strong IT Skills
  • PTTLs or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience of working in a customer facing role
  • Able to manage a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work under own initiative to inform continuous improvement and resolve issues
  • Knowledge of safeguarding

You will also benefit from having -

  • Knowledge of graduate recruitment practices and understanding of the labour market in the Yorkshire region
  • Experience of providing employability mentoring support
  • Knowledge of how funded programmes work
  • Assessor and/or Internal Verified qualifications (or willing to work towards)
