Where I’d work: Bradford/Hybrid Working

Work type: This is a permanent role, working full time, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday between a working window of 8:00am-6:00pm.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Careers and Funded Learning Advisor – Engagement & Work Experience to join the People Team at Yorkshire Water. You will support the Funding Learning Lead delivering funded learning programmes including (but not exclusive to) Work Experience and community activities across our region.

Where you fit in:
As our Early Careers & Funding Learning Advisor you will support the Funding Learning Lead delivering funded learning programmes including (but not exclusive to) Work Experience and community activities across our region. You will lead on the delivery of our Industrial Cadet programmes and other work experience programmes we agree to deliver in response to requests e.g. business in the community projects, short term internships, intermediate labour market model programmes (e.g Kickstart).
You will provide expertise and support stakeholders in the delivery of a coordinated, supported and governed work experience offering across our region to ensure Yorkshire Water is a key participant in the growth of our communities and young people.
You will run the selection phases for funded learning programmes (eg -Work Experience) and provide feedback where appropriate. You will act as a point of contact for all work experience candidates and their support network whilst on placement ensuring their pastoral needs are met. You will upskill managers and workplace buddies/mentors around work experience programmes, their role within in and providing support where needed to deliver them.
You will work with colleges, schools and regional groups to understand the different challenges facing our young people and our potential future workforce to inform the wider funding learning team activities in engaging and informing the transition from the workplace into employment.
You will link in with colleagues from the wider people team, eg - ED&I & also our internal Education Team and all business areas to connect the desired culture, skills and behaviours of our workforce with our communities and potential labour market including community centres, job centres, specific programmes targeting social mobility, inequalities, worklessness and poverty.

What skills and qualifications you will need:
• IAG level 3 or equivalent
• Strong IT Skills
• PTTLs or equivalent
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience of working in a customer facing role
• Able to manage a range of key stakeholders
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to work under own initiative to inform continuous improvement and resolve issues
• Knowledge of safeguarding

You will also benefit from having:
• Experience of Apprenticeships
• Experience of T Levels OR Adult Education Budget
• Experience of providing employability mentoring support
• Understanding of labour markets across the Yorkshire region
• Knowledge of how funded programmes work
• Assessor and/or Internal Verified qualifications (or willing to work towards)
