THE TEAM

This role is in our Human Resources Team which is spread across our London, Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh offices and supports the business internationally. The HR Team is made up of various smaller teams including Learning and Development, Reward, Resourcing, HR Operations, HR Business Partnering and the CSR and Diversity team.

WHAT ROLE WILL YOU PLAY AT AG?

Join us as an Early Careers Apprentice on our two-year HR L3 CIPD People Support apprenticeship programme, where you will get to kick start your career within HR, supporting the Early Careers strategy at Addleshaw Goddard.

This role is in our Early Careers team which is spread across our Edinburgh, Leeds, London and Manchester offices and supports the recruitment and development of Trainees, Graduates (Business Services) and Apprentices – legal and non-legal.

WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF THE ROLE?

As an Early Careers Apprentice, you will be responsible for the overall coordination of our Apprenticeships and Graduate (Business Services) programmes across our UK offices, from recruitment through to development.

We are looking for someone who has a keen passion and interest in supporting people through our Early Careers programmes and wants to build a career within Early Careers / HR, whilst studying towards the L3 CIPD People Support Apprenticeship.

Reporting into the Early Careers Advisor, this would assist in all aspects coordination and administration activity for the end-to-end recruitment process and development of current and future Graduates and Apprentices.

The following list is not exhaustive but gives a flavour of the expectations and responsibilities of the Early Careers Apprentice:

  1. Support the administration of Business Graduate and Apprentice recruitment activities ranging from advertising, marketing, assessment centres and placement schemes, ensuring an efficient and effective service to all involved in the hiring process.
  2. Acting as the first point of contact for Apprentice and Graduate queries from future joiners, providing guidance and support as needed.
  3. Management of the Early Careers inbox and responding to queries.
  4. Support the Early Careers Advisor in organising and attending recruitment events and material preparation.
  5. Co-ordinate candidate assessment centres, including booking rooms, sending calendar invites, arranging relevant paperwork and assisting on the day.
  6. Process and monitor invoice payments against budget tracker.
  7. Assist with onboarding of new apprentices and graduates, including supporting the induction process, and obtaining relevant HR paperwork.
  8. Support to develop key partnerships with schools and colleges, and universities and external companies to ensure we promote our programmes to a wide pool of talent and recruit a fully inclusive early careers pipeline.
  9. Responsible for co-ordinating our involvement and brand presentation at career fairs.
  10. Work with our internal teams to promote our brand through a range of channels.
  11. Support the team during ad-hoc and annual projects.
  12. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the processes by gathering feedback and suggesting enhancements.
  13. Ensure all processes and checklists are up to date.
  14. Build our Social Media profile for our Legal and Business Service Apprenticeships and Graduate programmes.

WHAT EXPERIENCE WILL YOU NEED TO HAVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE?

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Proficient with using IT equipment and Microsoft programmes.
  • Enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in Early Careers and HR.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A commitment to personal development and a willingness to learn.

EDUCATION

  • 3 A-levels or equivalent qualifications as well as 5 GCSEs at grades 4 and above (including English and Maths).
  • Commitment to completing an apprenticeship programme in HR (L3 CIPD People Support).
