Job description

Sales Manager, permanent full-time

  • £45k – £55k (dependent on experience)

Permanent homeworker.

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop sales and marketing of service packages and spare parts in the UK.
  • Work within the team to formulate, drive, and manage the development and execution of our clients' marine Sales Strategy to attract and expand new and existing business.
  • Maintain and build strategic alliances with key end users.
  • Review and prepare quotations, tenders, and commercial enquiries to secure sustainable growth in sales.
  • Provide technical support to new and existing clients.
  • Prepare and participate in our client’s product presentations to customers.
  • Review and report on market requirements and development.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK rail sector.
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical rail components; electrical systems knowledge would also be an advantage.
  • Good experience of key account management and/or business development.
  • Proven personal organizational skills and project/bid planning skills.
  • Developed client contacts in the rail sector.
  • Able to create a healthy pipeline and deliver sales orders.
  • Able to prepare commercial offers with the support of the organization, engineering, procurement, etc.
  • Good grasp of commercial and contract management.
  • Able to work independently and contribute to team goals.

Professional Experience & Education:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent such as HNC.
  • Proven experience of a proactive approach to producing new business opportunities.
  • >5 years of experience in Sales in the UK rail sector is essential. Marine industry experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong contacts in the UK rail industry.
  • Able to produce Sales KPIs.
  • Good presentation skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.

New Employees must pass a Drugs and Alcohol related Medical upon starting within the Company.

  • Monday – Thursday, 8:30am to 16:30pm, Friday 8:30am – 15:30pm (36.5-hour working week).
  • £45k – £55k (dependent on experience)
