Job Title: Purchasing Assistant

Onsite, Plymouth

Mission:

To provide operational level purchasing administration support to the Residential Controls Segment, including:

• Indirect parts purchasing and management, including services and capital.

Key responsibilities:

  • To create and manage purchase orders.
  • To support the procurement / planning team to ensure the timing and accurate supply of Purchased parts within the plant.
  • To assist and provide cover for the Planning of Manufacturing schedules.
  • To monitor stock levels and coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams.
  • To provide and support specification changes to materials and components as driven by any department / function within the plant.
  • To maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • To provide operational support in the procurement and management of all indirect purchase areas including services and capital.

Skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience in a Purchasing role within a volume manufacturing plant.
  • Good level of computer/ERP literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Firm understanding of cross-functional inter-dependencies (operations, finance, supply chain).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with others to achieve objectives.

Education

  • Ideally working towards or CIPS qualified.
