Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Commissioning Engineer required to join a global, market-leading engineering manufacturer.
The Successful Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Commissioning Engineer will provide mechanical repair, service, maintenance, commissioning plus electrical fault finding on high-speed rotating equipment, predominantly reciprocating compressors at customer sites across the UK and worldwide up to 30% of the time.
The Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Commissioning Engineer will ideally have a field service background in the compressed air industry or strong electromechanical experience in rotating equipment such as in Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Compressors, Gearboxes, Diesel Engines, Turbo Engines, Centrifuges, Industrial HVAC, Instrumentation, Generators, Pumps, or a strong mechanical bias with proficiency in PLC programming / PLC controls. Full product training is provided, and you must be willing to stay away in the UK and worldwide when required.

Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Commissioning Engineer Role
- To provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, maintenance, and commissioning of reciprocating compressed air equipment at customer sites across the UK and occasionally worldwide (approx. 30% of the time).
- The Compressor Service Engineer will undertake planned and preventative maintenance, provide advice, diagnostics, and technical support.
- Perform testing and PLC programming when required.
- Installing compressed air products into all forms of the manufacturing industry.
- Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repairs on reciprocating compressed air equipment.
- Liaise with various engineering departments.
Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Commissioning Engineer Requirements
- Proven diagnostic skills on complicated electrical / mechanical engineering systems.
- Experience as a Field Service Engineer / Service Engineer / Service Technician / Installation Engineer / Compressor Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / M&E Engineer / Electrical Engineer or similar within rotating equipment.
- The ability to maintain good professional working relationships with existing and new customers.
- Good working knowledge of three-phase electrics and controls and/or strong mechanical bias with proficiency in PLC programming/ PLC controls.
- Field service background in the compressed air industry or strong electromechanical experience in rotating equipment such as in Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Compressors, Gearboxes, Diesel Engines, Turbo Engines, Centrifuges, Industrial HVAC, Instrumentation, Generators, Pumps or similar. Full product training provided.
- A technical mechanical engineering degree would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK and worldwide 30% of the time.
- Willingness to stay away for long periods when required. Staying away and overtime allowance provided.
