What matters to us
- Degree qualified in a business, procurement or related discipline
- CIPS Qualified
- Minimum 5 years Buying experience.
- Experience of running supply chain events
- Experience with tendering process (CompeteFor etc)
- Knowledge and practical understanding of integrated IT System
- Literate and numerate with proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other office applications.
- Experience within a construction/engineering or similar background.
Your contribution to our company
- Aiding Head of Procurement and advising on purchasing policy, strategy and planning
- Managing purchasing staff, training, upskilling, developing and supervising their work
- Continual assessment and monitoring staff performance
- Managing suppliers, relationships, monitoring trade agreements
- Monitoring and managing quality and QA systems adherence.
- Liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet, and to supply demand to relevant quality.
- Project purchasing prioritisation and management.
- Negotiating and administration of purchasing contracts and monitoring their progress
- Ensuring contractual adherence
- Building in future supplier accreditation requirements in line with Business Requirements
- Administration and producing reports and statistics as necessary.
- Payment terms negotiation and account management
- Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers
- Developing market knowledge and contacts for new products and services; identifying potential suppliers
- Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors
- Keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future
- Visiting sites and suppliers ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives.
- Liaising with end users and other relevant parties
- Departmental staff recruitment, forecasting likely levels of demand for services.
- Monitor the supply chain performance, workload and financial status to protect the corporate position.
