We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. (Note: this is not applicable for EpiSci roles).

About the role

Applied Intuition has recently established a UK office. We are looking to add an exceptional business development professional with a track record of consistently meeting and exceeding revenue targets to our Government business development team to drive business development, manage business operations, and identify new business opportunities in the UK and European defence space. This role has 3 main parts:

• Planning and executing business development for Autonomy, Robotics, AI, and Automation for defence customers.
• Assisting with defence business strategy planning and operations.
• Understanding customer requirements and translating to Product and Engineering teams.

You will report to our Head of European Government and Defence and partner cross-functionally across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations. This is a uniquely strategic and operational role with a mix of both internal and external-facing responsibilities.

At Applied Intuition, you will:

• Establish relationships with UK and European partner defence prime contractors, defence Program Teams and other relevant MOD and NATO organizations. Maintain a high level of customer intimacy within these communities.
• Develop and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline in CRM.
• Capture new business in alignment with Applied’s technical expertise and defence strategic roadmap
  • This includes: tracking and planning defence-related relationships, managing customer relationships, visiting key existing and potential customers on a regular basis, and understanding customer technical and functional requirements.
• Assist with development of a detailed annual defence business development plan
  • This includes: maintaining awareness of and recommending to leadership any defence business opportunities relative to Applied Intuition’s current and future products, providing customer requirements input to the defence business strategy, and identifying potential new and future products.
• Coordinate, lead, and/or support proposal activities.

We're looking for someone who has:

• 5+ years experience in the defence ecosystem – Industry, Service, or government – doing business development, or a related role.
• Experience with Autonomy, Automation, or Artificial Intelligence technologies and their applications to National Security and defence.
• Bachelors and/or Masters in a technical field.
• Ability to execute thoughtfully and efficiently, with a “no task is too big or too small” mindset to get the job done.
• Willingness to wear many hats and execute with a “can-do” attitude.
• Passion for building a deep understanding of autonomous systems applications to National Security and defence.
