Our client, a leading insurance company based in London, is seeking a talented Senior Data Warehouse Engineer to join their dynamic Data Management team. As a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of data systems, including data warehouses, dashboards, and reports. Key Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into technical specifications
- Create ETLs for onboarding new portfolios
- Develop and maintain SQL Server and Oracle data warehouses
- Design and maintain data models for the data warehouse
- Assist with solution design and system test plan preparation
- Build and deploy BI solutions and analytical tools
- Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
- Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
- Develop and update technical documentation
- Improve processes within the organisation and automate manual tasks
- Conduct peer review of team members' code
- Support and maintain existing IT services
Job Requirements
- Significant experience with SQL Server data warehouse tools
- Experience with Oracle databases, including Oracle Cloud and Apex
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack and data warehousing concepts
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based IT services, particularly the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Power Platform
- Experience with person-to-person workflow technologies
- Exposure to Microsoft Windows and web services (IIS and Tomcat), CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), and generating XML files
- Understanding of database design techniques, optimisation, ETL best practices, and dimensional modeling
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
