Your new role

As a Site Engineer, you will be supported by the Section Engineer and others. You are expected to take ownership of the site works for your section, contribute to planning, and ensure that the works are constructed in accordance with the design and contract scopes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Understand the design specifications and drawings for your section.
  2. Write temporary works design briefs to a standard accepted by the Section Engineer and Temporary Works Coordinator.
  3. Review designs and raise any queries with your Section Engineer.
  4. Contribute to the project 4-week lookahead programme weekly for your works.
  5. Work with the Section Engineer and supervisors to manage any clashes with other site works.
  6. Contribute to delivering the Inspection and Test Plans for your works.
  7. Identify and promptly report Non-Conformances, ensuring they are closed out.
  8. Communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors, enabling functions, designers, and client representatives.
  9. Demonstrate commitment to Health & Safety Policies and procedures.
  10. Demonstrate commitment to Environmental Policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in a Civil Engineering-related subject or HND in Civil Engineering with vocational training.
  • Progressing towards or holding a Professional Industry Qualification (IEng, CEng, etc.).
  • Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS, SEATS).
  • Possession of a relevant CSCS Card.
  • Proficient with digital tools.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
