THE OPPORTUNITY
They have an opportunity available for an Underwriter. Generation Underwriting is a specialist MGA dealing exclusively through brokers. They proudly differentiate themselves as a professional, advice-led underwriting business, established in the North East of England in 2010. They have expanded their operations and are growing rapidly across the UK.
As part of the WF Risk Group, Generation has the financial backing of one of the UK’s largest family-run and independently owned insurance services providers which has over 40 years of trading history.
The Underwriter will work with a team supporting the profitable development of our SME account by underwriting a range of commercial risks within agreed processes and risk appetite, to achieve business development and retention targets.
They will have the opportunity to build relationships with a panel of brokers and expand their underwriting skills across our portfolio of products.
EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
They will negotiate with aligned brokers on allocated renewals, quotations, and handle ad hoc enquiries. They will develop the ability to successfully negotiate with our broker partners and provide tailored solutions to both our broker and customer needs.

ABOUT YOU, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS
Essential
Our Underwriter should have a minimum of 3 years of Commercial Insurance experience, ideally in underwriting, but we will also consider candidates who have worked in broking or claims and can demonstrate the required skill set and possess good technical knowledge. They will have good all-around insurance experience and technical knowledge across a range of classes of insurance products.
