About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisors to join our team and support secondary schools in Lewisham. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education who can maintain a positive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise classes across various subjects using pre-prepared lesson plans.
  2. Ensure students remain on task and engaged in their learning.
  3. Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
  4. Provide feedback on student progress and report any issues to the appropriate staff.
  5. Support students with their learning and uphold high expectations for conduct.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, teaching assistant, coaching, or similar roles).
  2. Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  3. Ability to adapt quickly and confidently lead a classroom.
  4. A degree or equivalent qualification (preferred but not essential).
  5. A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
