To work within the Speech & Language Therapy Team to provide an efficient and effective service in line with the guidance of the Clinical Lead Speech & Language Therapists for Stroke/Neurology, the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
To manage own caseload of inpatients with an acquired swallowing and/or communication disorder in Stroke/Neurology specialties.
Main duties of the job:
You'll be working with an expert team of SLTs providing services to Stroke/Neurology wards on the Hull Royal Infirmary site. You will have opportunities to gain specialist skills in areas of stroke/neurology, such as aphasia, AAC and Videofluoroscopy - and working closely with MDT colleagues.
You'll join a dynamic, supportive and forward thinking team in a large teaching and major trauma centre with first class facilities. We run regular Videofluoroscopy clinics using the MBSImP protocol and at HRI have an established and very busy FEES service.
Continuing Professional Development is actively encouraged and there are ongoing opportunities to help shape and deliver service improvements and new ways of working, including opportunities to work with colleagues in research.
