Our client is a PE-backed global IT services company in the Governance, Risk and Compliance market. They are made up of several sub-companies operating in the legal, health and safety, employment law and cyber security spaces. They have acquired multiple businesses and are now poised to expand dramatically.
Job Purpose:
The Systems Architect will play a pivotal role within the central Technology team, primarily focusing on the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) function, while also overseeing the integration of systems across all newly acquired entities.
This position requires meticulous attention to detail, with responsibilities including analysing existing IT environments, designing integration strategies, and managing the migration of systems—such as Office 365, HR, finance, and other core platforms—into the company's established infrastructure. During periods of low acquisition activity, the role will involve supporting IT operations to maintain business continuity and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical expertise, strong project management abilities, and a dedication to guiding integrations from inception to completion.
Core responsibilities:
- Assess and analyse IT environments of acquired companies, identifying risks and integration challenges.
- Design and execute migration plans, ensuring smooth transitions into core systems such as Office 365, HR, and finance platforms.
- Standardize infrastructure and security practices, aligning new acquisitions with company policies.
- Work cross-functionally with cloud, network, and security teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Lead data migrations, including email, file storage, user accounts, and business applications.
- Document processes, configurations, and integration roadmaps for future reference.
- Support IT operations during low, or deprioritised acquisition periods, assisting in troubleshooting and system management.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements throughout the integration process.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential:
- Proven experience as a Systems Architect, IT Manager, or similar role in an enterprise environment.
- Strong background in Office 365 administration, including tenant-to-tenant migrations.
- Experience integrating HR, finance, and other business-critical systems.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and networking principles.
- Expertise in Active Directory, identity management, and user access control.
- Experience with data migration strategies and tools (e.g., ShareGate, BitTitan, Power Automate).
- Strong project management skills with a start-to-finish mindset—ability to own projects to completion.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
Desirable:
- Experience in IT due diligence and M&A technology integration.
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Terraform).
- SC Clearance highly preferred.
