We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for animals to join us as a Veterinary Receptionist at Woodlands Veterinary Group.

Location: This role will involve working across both our practices (Ivybridge & Plymouth).

Hours: 30+ hours; including 1 in 5 Saturdays and 2 in 5 Sundays.

About the role:

Day-to-day duties of the role will include:

  • Answering phones and booking appointments
  • Responding to queries via phone, in person and email
  • Registering new clients
  • Collect and update patient information including medical history and insurance details
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the reception area.
  • Dispensing medications
  • Taking payments
  • Providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving at the practice

What we're looking for in our Veterinary Receptionist:

  • Previous Receptionist experience is essential, veterinary experience is a plus!
  • Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  • An excellent communicator with strong empathy
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in dealing with members of the public
  • A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database management and operating systems
