Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow

Details of the role: 4-year fixed term contract, full-time. Working pattern: Monday – Friday.

Salary: From £43,210 pa with benefits, subject to skills and experience

About the role…

You will have the opportunity to select from multiple post-doctoral projects, depending on your interests and expertise. Open areas of research include:

  • Developing new multiplex assays to study effects of variants on diverse molecular processes, such as gene regulation and cell type differentiation
  • Developing strategies to record complex molecular phenotypes to DNA
  • Scaling state-of-the-art genome editing technologies to produce data capable of training or refining computational models
  • Discovering new mechanisms underlying disease by mapping naturally occurring variants to phenotypes, leveraging human genomics databases such as Genomics England

What you will be doing…

As a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Crick, you will:

  • Drive innovation in the field of variant effect mapping
  • Explore how genetic variants impact biological function
  • Advance the application of genomics for improving healthcare outcomes
  • Develop your own career while also supporting the development of PhD students

About you…

You will bring…

  • PhD awarded or in the final stages of PhD submission
  • Expertise in functional genomics, biotechnology, computational biology, or a related area of research
  • Strong track record of scientific contribution, as evidenced by publications, preprints or submitted manuscripts
  • Passion for technology development
  • Expertise in molecular biology, including working with NGS libraries
  • Experience with cell culture
  • Experience with bioinformatics and/or analysis of high-throughput data
