Marketing Science Lead – Contract Position

6-12 Months contract - Permanent Option may follow

Location: 2 days London, 3 days WFH

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Science Leader to join a leading global tech business on a 6-12 month contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who has a strong background in marketing science, is a doer as well as a leader, and is highly fluent in data analytics. You’ll have proven experience in building and scaling marketing strategies that leverage advanced analytics to drive customer acquisition, retention, and business growth. As the lead for this function, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, manage a small team of analysts, and drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge, data-driven marketing campaigns. Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Execute Campaigns: Lead the creation and execution of data-driven marketing strategies that maximize customer acquisition and ROI across digital channels.
  • Evaluate Campaign Performance: Continuously monitor and adjust campaigns to ensure they meet objectives and deliver measurable results.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Use SQL/Python to gather and analyse data from multiple marketing channels, delivering valuable insights to drive business decisions.
  • Lead the MMM Transition: Take charge of moving the Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) process in-house. You'll lead model selection, building, training, and ensure the effective integration of model outputs with marketing teams to enhance performance.
  • Experimentation & Testing: Collaborate with other marketing scientists and stakeholders to design and execute experiments that refine models and improve marketing accuracy.
  • Industry Leadership: Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and trends to keep marketing strategies at the cutting edge.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present complex data insights to senior leadership, translating analytics into clear and actionable recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing science, data analytics, or a similar role, with a proven track record in leading high-performance teams.
  • Extensive experience using marketing analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and marketing automation platforms.
  • Expertise in advanced analytics methodologies, including regression models (ridge, Bayesian), time series analysis, forecasting, and full lifecycle MMM experience.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical findings to non-technical senior stakeholders.
