Job description

Be-IT are working with a Scottish based organization who is looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Technical Support Engineer with expertise in refrigeration (ideally) to join our dynamic team at our Head Office in Glasgow.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about technology and knowledgeable in refrigeration systems, eager to contribute to software testing, documentation, and training efforts.

We can also accept recent graduates for this role - preferably you'd have a degree in Electrical Power Engineering or something similar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • After-Sales Support: Provide comprehensive support for all our products, acting as the senior escalation point and subject matter expert for technical inquiries.
  • Product Testing: Lead the testing of complex products, offering detailed feedback to engineering and development teams to ensure product readiness and reliability before market launch.
  • Issue Resolution: Take full ownership of resolving escalations at all levels, from entry-level to complex technical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct training sessions for technical support staff at all levels, ensuring consistent knowledge transfer and skill development across the team.
  • Documentation Management: Oversee the creation, updating, and maintenance of technical documentation, ensuring it meets the needs of internal teams and end users, and reflects the latest product features and functionality.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the product development team to provide feedback based on customer experiences and support interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems and principles (desirable).
  • Familiarity with HVACR systems, controls, and energy management solutions (desirable).
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills (essential).
  • Strong team player with the ability to work closely with various departments (essential).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team (essential).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment (essential).
  • Solid technical background in control systems and products (essential).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for reports and customer interactions (essential)

The details:

  • Full-time, permanent role based in Glasgow
  • £35-40k for candidates who have experience in the industry (Refrigeration systems, HVAC)
  • £25-30k for candidates from a college/university background
  • 4 days on site at head office in Hillington - this is an essential requirement due to role nature - you will be office based but will not be required to travel to various different sites, just based in head office
  • The right to work in the UK - please note, candidates must have a valid working visa
  • Core hours are Monday to Friday - 1.30pm - 10.00pm with an hour's lunch break
