Integration and Change Accountant - Home Based - ARD1038522
Whilst this is a home based opportunity, we are looking for someone around the Yorkshire area as there will be meetings in the Harrogate and Leeds offices on a regular basis. If you are slightly further afield but happy to travel to the area as required (about once every couple of weeks), do not hesitate to apply.
Purpose of the Role
This exciting home based opportunity has arisen to join our Financial Controllership team. This role will play a key part in integrating newly acquired businesses into the wider group, along with supporting on other key finance change projects. This role will work closely with other business departments and be a member of the wider business integration team, to ensure a smooth and efficient transition into the group.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on the following and more.
- Coordinate pre-and post-acquisition finance activity to ensure smooth financial integration of newly acquired businesses whilst collaborating with the M&A Team, Payroll, Treasury and Finance teams.
- Deliver the necessary processes and controls to onboard acquisitions into the business as usual environment.
- Ensure all data is reconciled and processes defined before handing over into business as usual.
- Prepare and post ledger journals with appropriate support and where relevant review journals for accuracy.
- Prepare acquisition related documents, such as the opening balance sheet and completion accounts, with relevant UK GAAP to IFRS adjustments.
- Liaise with other finance departments within Group, to ensure accuracy accounting.
- Support acquired businesses with migration onto group accounting and reporting systems.
- Assist with the audit process for acquired businesses, helping local finance teams understand the requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate finance change activities both internally with the finance team, along with the wider business.
Who we are looking forThis is an opportunity for a talented, dynamic individual with significant hands-on experience in financial accounting, financial control and ideally some exposure to finance projects or business integration. We are looking for someone who has:
- The ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders within finance and the wider business.
- Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
- Initiative, proactivity, resourcefulness, attention to detail and can embrace change positively.
- Strength to work under pressure and learn and work with new processes and systems.
- Analytical, flexible, assertive and quick to learn.
- Investigative, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and help train others on new processes and systems.
Qualifications & Experience:- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent or QBE.
- MS Excel to an advanced level.
- Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards.
- Experience of integration or compiling financial reports from incomplete records.
- Broad range of general accounting functions and controls; a good understanding of insurance broking and systems would also be beneficial.
- Experience of year end audit.
