Lead QA/SDET

Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead QA/SDET to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of robust and scalable test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Implement Shift-Left Testing practices, ensuring early testing in the development lifecycle.
• Utilise multiple automation frameworks such as WebdriverIO, Cypress, and Playwright to support various testing types.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to drive a test-first approach and enhance test coverage.
• Define and track quality metrics such as defect density, test pass rate, and time to detect/resolve issues.
• Conduct code reviews, manage Git repositories, and oversee workflows to maintain high-quality standards.
• Provide guidance on non-functional testing, including performance, accessibility, and security testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless deployment processes.
• Mentor and train team members on testing methodologies and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Experience working in Agile environments, contributing to test design and assurance activities.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and cloud-based applications.
• Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience in contract testing (PACT) and mobile automation is a plus.
• Consultancy experience is advantageous.
