Job Title: Legionella Risk Assessor / Plumber

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Salary / Benefits: £24k - £36k + Training + Benefits


A multi-disciplined and industry leading Environmental outfit are now seeking to recruit a Legionella Risk Assessor / Plumber to join their team in the Midlands region. This role would suit someone looking to join a continuously growing and forward-thinking company where you will be working on longstanding Commercial, Domestic, and Industrial sites. The successful candidate will hold qualifications in both Risk Assessing & Plumbing and will have extensive experience carrying out Legionella Risk Assessing alongside deadleg removals and PVC / copper pipe removal / replacement / rerouting in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8. Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate must be happy to travel extensively in line with company and client needs.


Experience & Qualifications:

  1. Will hold industry relevant qualifications e.g. City and Guilds / WMSoc in Legionella Risk Assessment and City and Guilds / NVQ L2 or higher in Plumbing.
  2. Will have experience working hands on as a Risk Assessor / Plumber for a reputable Water Hygiene / Legionella Management company.
  3. Well versed in HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines.
  4. Excellent time management skills.
  5. Able to communicate efficiently.
  6. IT literate, able to produce reports and management plans.

The Role:

  1. Conducting Legionella Risk Assessments on hot and cold-water systems.
  2. Creating site specific schematic drawings.
  3. Amending schematic drawings correctly when required.
  4. Carrying out deadleg removals.
  5. Removing, replacing, and rerouting PVC and copper pipework.
  6. Carrying out CWST and refurbishment and installs.
  7. Carrying out fault finding on site, ensuring to deal with any issues in a timely manner.
  8. Undertaking checks on plumbing work and signing off upon completion.
  9. Using information from site to produce detailed legionella reports.
  10. Creating site specific legionella management plans, ensuring clients are aware of any actions that need to be implemented.
  11. Working in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines.
  12. Liaising with clients, providing support and advice when required.
