Division info:

The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

Reporting to the UK VP & General Manager, the Programmes Director has ownership and accountability of all commercial and programme activities of the UK business. The successful candidate will manage a cross-functional team that oversees end-to-end programme execution (from the proposal stage to delivery), ensuring deliverables are met on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

The Programme Director provides leadership and programme management guidance to the programme managers, being responsible for their coaching and development.

The Director will play a vital role within the Senior Management team and will participate in elaborating and tracking annual objectives for business growth and profitability.

Main responsibilities:
  1. Manage the bid process including the negotiation of agreements with customers to support new business opportunities or contractual changes ensuring increased profitability.
  2. Responsible for the Contract Review process.
  3. Establish short and long-term objectives (Bold Actions) required to meet budget and proactively identify issues and/or risks; facilitate risk mitigation strategies where needed.
  4. Measure and monitor the overall performance of the UK programmes.
  5. Oversee performance management of staff including interviewing, hiring and coaching members of the team.
  6. Responsible for the Business Development & Account Management (strategic leverage), Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process including the Master Production Schedule and Inventory and Capacity analysis.
  7. Identify new business opportunities and prepare associated proposals.
  8. Ensure compliance with HD - UK’s export control policies.
Qualifications:
  1. Background in engineering aerospace, or a related technical field is highly desirable.
  2. 5-10 years of experience in management, operations background is a must.
  3. Proven experience in contract negotiation and programme delivery is mandatory.
  4. Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus toward strategic goals.
  6. Ambitious and target focused with a drive to succeed.
  7. Natural leader with ability to convince and inspire key stakeholders.
  8. Proven track record of delivering results to business plans.
