HGV Class 2 Driver - Temp To Perm

We are looking for experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our client's Team on a permanent position.

Salary: £17.00 per hour after passing probation (£15.15 with holiday pay during probation)

Schedule: Monday - Friday with the option to work weekends.

Experience: HGV class 2 driver experience essential.

This is a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. Driver Hire, the UK's largest specialist transport and logistics recruitment company, has been engaged by a major European company to recruit their HGV Class 2 Drivers. Based in Manchester, you will be collecting drums of used cooking oil from various Northwest locations, including Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, and Takeaways.

Our client is looking for a HGV Class 2 Driver to take a full-time Temp to Perm role.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist customers in a friendly manner and ensure excellent service. Customer satisfaction is particularly important to us!
2. Visit 15 to 25 customers per day.
3. Follow the planned route and collect from Restaurants, Hotels, and other businesses.
4. Work independently, enjoy your journeys, and keep administration simple using a smartphone or tablet.
5. Deliver the collected load at the end of the day.
6. Start time of approximately 10:00, finishing no later than 20:00.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Experience as a driver collecting goods is a plus, but not essential.
2. Physically fit and able to lift, move, and load barrels.
3. A valid driving licence (Category C) - with no more than 3 penalty points.
4. Good command of the English language.

Duties:

1. Drive company vehicle responsibly and safely, obeying all traffic laws.
2. Conduct required daily vehicle checks to ensure procedural compliance.
3. Maintain regular contact with Branch Managers on daily progress.
4. Complete paperwork accurately as instructed.
5. Deal with customers face to face in a polite and courteous manner.
