Base pay range

Our client is a growing SME, with lots of projects in pipeline. This is a great opportunity to play a material part in the growth story.

They are looking for an interim Financial Controller to work with the leadership team in building a “best in class” finance function to support the continued growth of the business.

Responsibilities include:

• Streamlining and shortening the monthly reporting cycle
• Developing management accounting information to add commercial value
• Driving improvements in financial controls
• Implementing group accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, technical compliance and best practice
• Improving financial operating processes and systems
• Developing cash flow forecasting and reporting
• Improving use of the Company’s finance system, including functional optimisation and process improvement.

Experience and skills required:

• Experienced financial controller, ideally ACA qualified but any accounting qualification considered.
• Ideally strong experience in high growth businesses
• Proven background in finance transformation, implementing & improving processes & controls
• Technically strong accountant, with good grounding in accounting standards, driving rigour in the balance sheet, and inside out knowledge of a P&L
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to gel quickly with different areas of finance and the broader business
• A proven drive to create “best in class” wherever you go, with a curiosity to match
• Problem solver, deep numerical skills, super Excel and attention to detail

The role is initially a 6 month contract, with an immediate start.

The business is based near Watford and you must be able to get to the office 3 days/week.
