Location: Forth Valley Sensory Centre Redbrae Road Camelon, FK1 4DD

Salary: £29,941 - £32,082 per year pro rata

Contract Type: Temporary

Position Type: Part Time

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Are you dynamic and want to make a difference in how we deliver public services? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our experienced, motivated and passionate team. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will provide, organise and deliver Sensory Training, develop content in British Sign Language (BSL) for social media, engage with communities, staff and other key professionals to understand and address the needs of local communities regarding sensory impairments.

Responsibilities

You will:

  1. Have experience working in sensory environments, engaging with communities, and delivering training.
  2. Lead community group work in line with the See Hear Strategy and the BSL (Scotland) Act.
  3. Coordinate outreach and engagement activities.
  4. Demonstrate strong communication skills, a flexible and positive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  5. Manage your own workload and use initiative effectively.
Requirements

You will be required to hold:

  1. SQA British Sign Language SCQF Level 7 or above.
  2. Internal Verification of Workplace Assessments SCQF Level 8 or above.

You will also have:

  1. A positive ‘can do’ attitude and the drive to ‘make it happen’ in a busy working environment.
  2. Sound communication, planning, and organisation skills.
  3. The ability to work to deadlines, ensuring an excellent service to both internal and external key professionals and stakeholders.
  4. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office and data protection legislation requirements with highly developed I.T. skills.

This post is temporary until April 2027 due to service requirements. If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to carry out a Disclosure Scotland check.
