Job description

As a Retail Sales Advisor at DFS, you are the heartbeat of our store, greeting customers and guiding them to help them find their thing, be it a sofa, a bed or those little finishing touches that make their house a home. With your passion for great service and love for our products, you’ll bring comfort and joy into every customer’s home.

Let’s be real - we understand life’s busy. That’s why we offer flexible shifts to help you balance your job with life outside of the store - If the advertised hours don’t quite fit for you, apply and let’s work together to find the hours that work just right.

We extend a warm welcome to everyone, weaving together a range of voices and perspectives to create a truly inclusive culture. As we strive to build a workplace that better reflects the diverse communities we serve, we encourage applications from under-represented groups. At DFS Group, we’re not just a place where everyone is welcome - we’re a place where everyone truly belongs.

What you'll be doing

We always ‘Aim High’ and we’re crystal clear on how to make our customers feel at home. With your friendly service and natural instincts for helping them find exactly what they need, you'll be hitting (and smashing!) your sales numbers in no time.

  • Customer connection: You’ll create a warm and welcoming environment, building natural connections with customers and truly listening to what they’re looking for, delivering expert advice to every customer, every time.
  • Passionate about product: We’ll teach you everything there is to know about our products, so you can confidently recommend the best options and demonstrate your expertise to our customers.
  • Sales success: You’ll guide customers through the buying journey, identifying and recognising what they are looking for through really great questions to help them find the perfect fit for their home.
  • Offer honest advice and accuracy: At DFS, we believe in being real with our customers. You’ll offer honest advice, guiding customers to the best options without overpromising, building trust and confidence. You’ll ensure order accuracy with careful attention to detail and clear communication, delivering a seamless experience.
  • Store pride: You’ll keep our showroom looking stunning, ensuring everything is beautifully displayed and that our customers are getting a consistent journey no matter what store they visit.
  • Team spirit: At DFS, our values are at the core of everything we do. We play to win for the same team, sharing tips, supporting each other, and creating a fun environment where both customers and colleagues love to be.
The role is for you if...

We’re after someone who’s friendly, approachable, and enjoys connecting with people. No sales experience? No worries! Trust us, we’ve got all the training you’ll need. If you're ambitious with heart, with a touch of wit, we’d love to meet you.

Ahead of your interview, please let us know if you need any accommodations or adjustments. We want to make sure you're comfortable and have everything you need to perform at your best.

Interview Process

Our interview process includes competency based questions:

  1. Telephone Chat - Our talent team will get to know you.
  2. Face-to-Face Interview - You and our Store Manager will get to know each other.
