About The Role

Our Procurement team are recruiting for a Procurement Category Manager on a full time permanent basis.

What you could be doing:

• You will be defining the strategies & priorities for your category of spend, as well as sourcing and negotiating to select the best partners for Volkswagen Group to deliver on our strategic priorities and objectives.
• You will be responsible for your own category of indirect spend. Our Procurement team look after a range of categories of indirect spend including, but not limited to: Marketing, IT Services, Digital, Customer Operations, Events, Travel & People Services, Corporate Services, Automotive and Logistics.
• You will report into the Procurement Team Manager and be key in supporting Volkswagen Group UK, Volkswagen Group Ireland and Volkswagen Group Financial Services UK, ensuring that all contracts are sourced and approved in accordance with the companies' policies and procedures.
• You will play an important role in unlocking the value and opportunities presented through an established UK and Ireland Regional Sourcing Committee, linking in with colleagues in our other sister brands such as Bentley, Porsche GB, MAN and Scania.

Skills and experience you can bring to role:

• You'll have an extensive background in Procurement with indirect spend and have experience of managing multiple complex projects across a range of services.
• You'll have a keen eye for detail, strong commercial acumen and be analytical, as you'll be working with purchases for large sums of money and dealing with complex commercial models.
• You'll need to able to build strong and productive relationships to enable you to influence decisions and maximise value generation for the business as you will have cross function and cross brand exposure and access to numerous senior stakeholders, in the UK and abroad.
• You'll need to be forward thinking with good problem solving ability, developing strategies and solutions to ensure that cost saving and supplier performance targets are achieved or exceeded.
• You'll be self-motivated and resilient, with a strong background in stakeholder management and leading as part of a cross-functional team.
• You'll will be proficient in producing and presenting recommendations for supplier award.
