If so, this role could be for you. Dstl is hiring a Deputy Facilities Manager to be responsible for the Health & Safety across the Dstl estate, minimising risks, threats & hazards within the operations of our building/work area.

This opportunity will see you provide support to the Facilities Manager and take responsibility for Deputising when required. You will have the opportunity to hone and develop your leadership skills as we help you develop your career.

Job Description

In this role you will:

  • Ensure safe, secure and compliant facilities are provided in line with strategic and operational requirements.
  • Be accountable for the planning, scheduling and delivery of maintenance programme in your work area with Estates Service Provider.
  • Minimise the collective risks within the work area by taking a holistic view of hazards, threats and vulnerabilities to ensure the operation of the building/work area is maintained within delegated safe working/operating limits.
  • Be responsible for Health, Safety, Security, Resilience and Sustainability issues within the work area.
  • Provide support to Facilities Manager to enable management of their work area.

Important Information

Our work in defence, security and intelligence requires our employees to be UK Nationals who are able to gain a high level of security clearance to undertake the projects we are involved in to protect us from security threats. This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required; in this case, you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.

Person Specification

You will bring:

  • Experience of Facilities management including Health, Safety & Environmental
  • Experience in mitigating Risks & hazard management
  • Effective communication skills to build customer & stakeholders relationships
  • Experience in undertaking audits

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours and Experience.

Sifting will take place week commencing the 17th March 2025 with interviews to be arranged on 27th & 31st March 2025. Interviews will consist of a behavioural & technical interview, interviews will be held at Dstl Porton Down.

Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.

Security

Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check.

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.
