Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who is passionate about providing patient-centred care to continue their career in our progressive integrated podiatry team here at Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (HMR).

Predominantly community-based, you will be expected to provide comprehensive, high-quality podiatric care in a variety of locations across HMR's Integrated Podiatry service including Rochdale Infirmary.

Our team is made up of mixed-skilled Podiatrists and 2 Podiatry Assistants. The service operates across 6 geographical clinic locations within the HMR Borough, providing comprehensive podiatry services for patients with musculoskeletal/biomechanical, diabetic, wound care, vascular foot issues, and nail surgery. The service also operates a domiciliary provision which has strict access criteria.

We have strong links with other disciplines across Diabetology, Vascular Surgery, Microbiology, Radiology, and Orthopaedics, providing excellent opportunities for developing the successful candidate.

Your caseload will include the management of high-risk patients, including a domiciliary caseload, MSK clinics, nail surgery, and the management of patients with various other medical conditions. You will also have the opportunity to work with inpatients and outpatients as part of our in-reach to Rochdale Infirmary to ensure the delivery of timely and seamless care.

Good diagnostic and clinical skills are essential. Organisational, time management, and communication skills are also critical to this role. You should have the ability to work independently as well as part of our friendly team.

There are excellent opportunities to develop your skills with our established MSK and high-risk teams, supported through a CPD programme and staff appraisal.

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester. Our 20,000 colleagues care for people in hospital and in the community, working across Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, and Salford, to save and improve lives. We believe in our power and potential to make a difference and we’re always looking for people who demonstrate our three core values - care, appreciate, and inspire – to join our team. In return, we can offer you a job role with purpose and flexibility. The size and scale of the NCA means we can provide more challenge and opportunities so your career can always be moving in the right direction. By joining us, you can also access a competitive benefits package, including a fantastic annual leave allowance, flexible working opportunities, and protected hours for health and wellbeing activities, helping you to achieve more personal downtime and a better work-life balance.
