CaSE Civil & Structural Engineering, the contractor-facing division of an international engineering group, is expanding its presence in the UK. As part of this growth, we’re introducing CJC Commercial, a specialist consultancy providing commercial and project controls services to clients across the infrastructure sector.

To lead this exciting new venture, we’re looking for a Senior PQS / Commercial Lead to join our UK management team. This is a rare opportunity to shape and develop a new business within a well-established international group.

The Role

We are looking for a highly experienced PQS to lead the commercial function of CJC Commercial in the UK. The successful candidate will be hands-on in guiding business strategy, managing tendering processes, and supporting commercial growth. This is a leadership position with the opportunity to build and expand the commercial team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage cost planning and commercial functions for client-side projects.
2. Prepare and submit tender responses, ensuring competitive and viable proposals.
3. Work across RIBA Stages 1-4, including feasibility assessments, cost estimating, and pre-construction planning.
4. Conduct take-off measurements and provide accurate cost breakdowns.
5. Collaborate with contractors and project teams to ensure commercial viability and cost control.
6. Play a key role in establishing and growing the commercial function in the UK.
7. Support the setup of a new office, with the potential to build and lead a team.

Key Requirements:

1. Chartered PQS (MRICS or equivalent).
2. 10+ years’ experience in quantity surveying.
3. Strong expertise in RIBA Stages 1-4, with a solid understanding of cost planning and pre-construction processes.
4. Experience in both client-side and contractor-side roles is preferred.
5. Proven ability to lead commercial functions, manage tenders, and drive cost efficiencies.
6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to contribute to business growth and development.
