Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Management Accountant for a highly successful and profitable retail business based in Blackburn. With the business constantly growing, an exciting opportunity has opened up within the highest performing division in the group.

As the Management Accountant, you will be providing accounting support within the finance team to ensure that key financial close and day-to-day activities are completed accurately and promptly. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a Part-Qualified/Finalist accountant who is looking for a challenging but rewarding role, with career progression readily available.

Key responsibilities of the Management Accountant

1. Production of monthly Management Accounts in a timely and accurate manner
2. Ownership of the annual budget process, developing the input tools for the business
3. Analysing and presenting key KPI figures to senior management and wider management teams
4. Reporting on updates and variances to budgets and previous forecasts
5. Continuously review and improve financial processes and controls
6. Liaising with departments and partnering across the business to support with budget management and financial planning

Required skills and experience of the Management Accountant

1. Part-Qualified/Finalist or Qualified by experience (preferably CIMA OR ACCA)
2. Experience in organising and conducting meetings and supporting in presentations
3. The ability to partner and communicate effectively between finance and the wider business to interpret and explain financial data and concepts
4. An understanding of Management Accounting
5. Skilled in interpreting financial data and able to analyse data using Excel
