Job description

Laser Machine Programmer Engineer required to join a well-established Manufacturing company based in the Milton Keynes area, that specialise in supplying service for a range of industries including railway, automotive, aerospace, construction, MOD & security, industrial, marine and power.

Responsibilities

• Programming the laser cutting machines.
• Ensuring the flat form from the laser cutter will fold up to drawing in line with bend allowances and tooling available.
• Development of laser cutting techniques.
• Programming and nesting - ensuring optimum use of materials.
• Management and control of laser programs.
• Mentoring and development of existing laser operators.
• Raise shop floor paperwork such as Work Orders ensuring route cards are correct.
• Preventative maintenance of laser cutters and associated equipment.
• Procure materials to Job.
• Assist with any problem solving that should arise from laser operations.
• Help train production staff.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience within a similar position.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrications and CNC machining.
• Able to determine all manufacturing processes required to fabricate the product.
• Ability to draw 2D parts using CAD software.
• Radan software experience would be advantageous.
• Must live within a commutable distance of Milton Keynes.

Salary & Benefits

• Full time - Permanent position.
• Monday to Friday.
• 8am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and on Friday it's 8am - 2pm.
• 33 days holiday including BH.
• Pension.
