Senior Business Systems Analyst

The Senior Business Systems Analyst role at Amwins provides support for our business and technology teams, partnering with these groups to deliver technology solutions. Your responsibilities would include managing requirements for development, analyzing our processes and system capabilities while partnering with our business and technical teams to develop system solutions that satisfy the needs of our business to create efficiency and drive business change within the organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Building deep knowledge of the Amwins business model and supporting technology footprint in order to effectively partner with Technology Leaders and Product Owner in the design and delivery of high-value solutions.
  • Becoming very familiar with the Information Technology processes, tools, structures and solutions to effectively engage with a wide variety of team members in the mitigation of risk, opportunity identification, enhanced solution supportability and high-value solution delivery.
  • Work with business and technology leaders to identify and support process improvement opportunities focused on scalability, reusability, and supportability.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Scrum solution delivery framework as a means to delivering business value. Understanding that Scrum is a framework that will be adapted based on various influencing elements such as team structure, solution complexity, process maturity, etc.
  • Perform complex research and create documentation to explore existing solutions and determine how best to integrate and/or improve solutions.
  • Fully collaborative approach to team member engagement to enhance collective delivery of business value through process efficiencies, shared workloads, risk and issue management, and effective communications.
  • Demonstrating highly effective work routines and individual accountability. Championing of business needs and continuous improvement to increase value of solution delivery.
Required Technical Experience:
  • Extensive working knowledge of SQL, Relational database design, web application design, SaaS, GitHub, Azure DevOps
  • Communication skills – verbal, written, and listening; ability to adjust style and level of communication based on audience
  • Negotiation skills – consider all parties’ needs, interests, and motivations and encourage win/win outcomes
  • Facilitation skills – effectively lead organized and focused meetings
  • Elicitation skills – question stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand business needs; ability to pull out the underlying need and the problem, and not just the desired solution
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving – can identify if a solution will meet business needs; ensures solutions solve underlying problems instead of the immediate need
  • Organizational skills – self-motivated and self-managed; plans according to priorities and timelines
  • Adaptable – responds to organizational changes and changing priorities
