Job description

Air Handling Unit (AHU) manufacturer based in Cambridge, ON is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler for a full-time position at its Buffalo, NY assembly plant. This role involves assembling and installing air handling and ventilation equipment in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, the ability to interpret 3D SolidWorks fabrication drawings, and a strong understanding of AHU components and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities:

Assemble and install AHUs and ventilation equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Interpret and work from 3D SolidWorks assembly and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate construction and installation.
Use hand tools and power tools to perform assembly, fastening, and component installation.
Conduct quality checks on assembled units to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or assembly issues, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper functionality.
Coordinate with engineers and production teams to ensure assembly processes meet design specifications and production deadlines.

Qualifications:

4-5 years of experience in assembling and installing air handling, ventilation, or air conditioning equipment.
Strong knowledge of air handling and ventilation components.
Ability to read and interpret 3D Solid works Assembly and fabrication drawings.
Experience with metal fabrication and mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Forklift operation experience is a plus.
