Site Agent – Highways

Salary: £40000-50000
Location: South East
Regions: South East, Surrey

We are looking to recruit an experienced Site Agent to work with a well-known UK contractor on multi-discipline heavy civil and highways projects across the South East of England. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating all technical aspects, procuring materials, and coordinating sub-contractors to ensure that quality and costs are controlled.

Ideal candidate requirements:

1. Educated to HNC/HND Civil Engineering or Degree standard desirable
2. Extensive Highways/Infrastructure experience
3. Previous experience as an Agent with a main civil engineering contractor on projects up to £5 to £10m
4. Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage costs, customers, and supply chain
5. High familiarity with HS&E Standards
6. Experience leading a team of engineers
7. Customer focus and exposure to management leadership
8. Precast experience and managing projects with high levels of public interface
9. Contributes to the tender and pre-qualification process if required
10. Works within the Company Standards – business plan, HSQE, CSR, Procurement/Supply, Finance, HR etc.

Duties:

1. Plan, programme, set up and run projects with support/guidance if required
2. Produce & monitor resource programmes and costings
3. Understand and lead the planning process
4. Control and monitor forecast costs
5. Deliver profitability that exceeds normal tender margins wherever possible
6. Act as an ambassador for the company with customers, suppliers, public, employees etc.
7. Develop and sustain good working relationships with customers and employees that contribute to the success of the project and business
8. Manage and evaluate risk and opportunity and act for the good of the Company
9. Represent the Company on contractual issues if required
10. Able to develop and support employees under their supervision
11. Knowledge of Conditions of Contract
