At Woodhouse, we don’t just build industry-leading temporary equine stabling and trade stand structures – we build careers.

For over 130 years, Woodhouse has been a trusted name in providing high-quality temporary structures for prestigious equestrian events, trade shows, and large-scale outdoor exhibitions. Our success is built on expertise, precision, and the dedication of our people.

Why Woodhouse? A Place for Growth and Opportunities

At Woodhouse, we are driven by our core values of precision, craftsmanship, and delivering the highest standards of service. Joining our team means becoming part of a business that values your contributions and invests in your development. This hands-on role offers variety every day, as you coordinate the build and takedown of temporary stables and trade stands for events across the UK while overseeing a dedicated team on-site.

The role requires strong organisational and leadership skills, and the ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment. If you’re seeking a position where you can grow within a company that prioritises career progression and long-term development, this is the ideal opportunity. As a Site Lead, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient construction and deconstruction of our structures, while maintaining the exceptional reputation Woodhouse has built in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinating build, event, and takedown activities: Organise tasks according to project priorities and plans, adjusting schedules as needed due to weather, supply issues, or personnel changes.
  2. Delegating responsibilities: Assign specific tasks to team members and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow during both build and takedown stages.
  3. Supervising and training staff: Oversee and mentor your team during the setup and takedown phases, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
  4. Ensuring safety compliance: Enforce safety protocols and quality standards on-site, conducting regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards throughout both build and takedown.
  5. Managing resources: Ensure adequate staff and resources are available for the build, event, and takedown phases, requisitioning materials and equipment as necessary.
  6. Monitoring progress and reporting: Track the progress of the build, event, and takedown phases, resolve any issues promptly, and report on status to managers and event organisers.
  7. Maintaining documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any incidents or issues that arise during the build, event, or takedown phases.
  8. Overnight stays and occasional weekend work will be required due to the nature of the role and the need to travel across the UK.

At Woodhouse, we believe that our people are the heart of our business. We are committed to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for long-term growth. Many of our senior team members started in hands-on roles and have progressed through the company – we’ll help you do the same.

  1. A varied, hands-on role working on exciting projects across different locations.
  2. A full-time, permanent position within an industry-leading company.
  3. Genuine career progression opportunities – we invest in training, mentoring, and internal promotions.
  4. Competitive salary (dependent on experience).
  5. Private healthcare access, including mental health support, dental, and optical care.
  6. A supportive, team-focused working environment, where your contributions are valued.
  7. Company-wide social events to foster a positive and rewarding workplace culture.
