Conveyancing Legal Assistant/Paralegal

My client is seeking a Conveyancing Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join their team in New Malden, London.

As a Legal Assistant/Paralegal in their Residential Conveyancing department, you will play a pivotal role in supporting fee earners with the smooth running of conveyancing transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for property law and a desire to grow their legal career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assisting fee earners with managing a caseload of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction to post-completion, including (but not limited to): sales and purchases, leasehold and freehold, transfer of equity, re-mortgaging, lease extensions, deeds of variation, probate sales, and equity release.
2. Preparing and drafting legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and other property-related paperwork.
3. Conducting Land Registry searches and managing registration processes.
4. Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other parties involved in the conveyancing process.
5. Opening and closing client files in line with compliance procedures.
6. Managing administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining accurate client records.
7. Supporting the preparation of completion statements and ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately.
8. Monitoring deadlines and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Skills and Experience:

1. Previous experience in a residential conveyancing role (Legal Assistant or Paralegal).
2. Knowledge of the conveyancing process and associated legal documentation.
3. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
