Job description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Credit Risk professional with expertise in credit risk analytics, statistical modelling, and credit risk management in the banking sector. The ideal candidate should also have significant experience working with credit cards, including risk assessment, portfolio management, and lifecycle analytics. As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you will play a crucial role in developing the credit risk analytics area in the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collect and analyse data from various sources, including internal systems and Credit Bureaus, to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities and propose changes in credit policy or marketing activities.
  2. Develop and implement changes to balance risk and profitability for credit card products.
  3. Actively participate in the credit limit management process, monitoring its performance and proposing changes to the strategy as needed.
  4. Develop and maintain statistical models, e.g., scorecards for the credit risk area.
  5. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on data analysis, helping them make informed decisions and drive business growth.
  6. Collaborate with teams within the decision and analytics area and other ones in different geographical locations.
  7. Effectively communicate complex analytical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations, reports, and visualizations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Methods, Computer Science, or Engineering. A Master's degree is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in analytics or a data science field.
  3. Experience in the financial sector is required, especially in retail credit risk.
  4. Deep understanding of credit card products, including risk and profitability drivers.
  5. Proven experience in credit limit management processes (e.g., setting, monitoring, adjusting).
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail. Algorithmic and creative approach to solving problems.
  7. Proven track record of delivering impactful insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  8. Fluent English to be able to collaborate with colleagues from other countries.

Skills:

  1. Proficiency in data modelling methodologies and statistical analysis techniques.
  2. Practical knowledge from the German, UK, and Spanish markets will be a plus.
  3. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R is preferred.
  4. Excellent knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  5. Experience in predictive modelling using logistic regression will be a plus.
  6. Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Location: London.

Salary: up to £70,000 depending on experience.
