Biology Teacher | Sutton

Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Start Date: September 2025

A highly regarded secondary school in Sutton is seeking a passionate and creative Biology Teacher to join its creative and popular Science Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Biology Teacher to become part of a school known for its commitment to academic achievement, a strong sense of community and a focus on the development of both students and staff.

*Please note, a TLR is available for a suitably qualified Biology Teacher to assume the role of KS3 Science Co-ordinator*

Biology Teacher | The Role:

  • Deliver inspiring and engaging Biology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, helping students develop a deep understanding and appreciation of the subject.
  • Use creative and innovative teaching methods to engage students and encourage a love of learning.
  • Collaborate with the Science Department to ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively and enriches students’ learning experience.
  • Take on additional responsibilities, such as curriculum planning or mentoring, with the potential for TLR opportunities for those with the relevant experience.

Biology Teacher | The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching that results in excellent student outcomes.
  • A degree in Biology or a related subject (2:1 or higher preferred).
  • A passion for Biology and the ability to inspire students to excel in critical thinking.
  • Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience or a desire to take on additional responsibilities, with leadership potential.
  • A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and a drive to contribute to the overall success of the department.
