Wayman Education is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Year 1 Teacher to join a reputable primary school in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire based in North of London from April 2024. The successful candidate will be passionate about education and have a proven track record of delivering excellent teaching in a Year 1 setting. Aside from that, the successful Year 1 Teacher will work collaboratively with the school team to ensure all students receive a positive and engaging learning experience.

Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities:

1. Plan and deliver exciting and engaging lessons that challenge and inspire Year 1 students to reach their full potential.
2. Monitor and assess students' progress and keep regular records of Year 1 students’ academic performance.
3. Create a positive learning environment that is both safe and conducive for learning.
4. Collaborate with school management, teaching staff, and parents to provide quality academic support for Year 1 students.
5. Prepare and participate in school-related activities such as performances, events, and parent/teacher meetings.
6. Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all children.
7. Use a variety of effective classroom management strategies to ensure an orderly and safe learning environment.

Year 1 Teacher Requirements:

1. Year 1 teacher experience.
2. QTS, PGCE or equivalent.
3. A recognized qualification in teaching, preferably a Bachelor's degree in Education or any relevant field.
4. Proven experience in teaching Year 1 in a mainstream primary or secondary school.
5. Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
6. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students.
7. Sound knowledge of the national curriculum and its application in class.
8. Ability to adapt teaching styles to facilitate different learning styles.
9. A passion for teaching and making a difference in students' lives.

Year 1 Teacher Salary

The salary for this Year 1 Teacher position will be paid to scale on a temporary contract following the MPS/UPS pay scale within the Fringe of London.
