Job description

We are looking for an experienced Bid Writer to help drive our business development and growth!

As a Bid Writer you will work within our business development team helping to write and produce high quality and persuasive content for tenders, business proposals and other work-winning submissions. You will drive our business growth strategies and play a pivotal role in showcasing HCRG Care Group as the provider of choice to commissioning organisations including, local authorities, NHS ICBs, NHS England, NHS provider trusts, and others.

You will lead on multiple and concurrent bid responses ensuring timely submissions showcase HCRG Care Group’s innovative ways of working and USPs, running as golden threads throughout our content.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in using AI to help revolutionise our processes including experience with building and maintaining AI libraries for bid generations.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours a week, though flexibility is required to accommodate competing pressures when meeting deadlines and submissions.

The role is remote but requires some travel for work when required.

Main Responsibility

As a Bid Writer you will:

1. Produce high-quality, persuasive content for bids, proposals, and submissions within the business development team.
2. Lead and manage the bid writing timeline, including research and pre-bid tasks.
3. Handle multiple bid responses and ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
4. Conduct research on market trends, competitors, and clients to inform proposals.
5. Lead capture sessions, such as workshops and storyboarding.
6. Oversee visual elements of bid responses, adhering to the HCRG style guide.
7. Use AI tools to enhance bid production speed and quality.
8. Collaborate with SMEs to gather and refine bid content.
9. Build and maintain a content library for future use.
10. Ensure USPs and win-themes are integrated into each bid.
11. Contribute to additional documents like mobilisation and communication plans.
12. Ensure submissions meet service specifications and maximise scoring.
13. Support the team with bid style guides, boilerplate content, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate

1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
2. Experience writing content for bids, tenders, and proposals.
3. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
4. Strong attention to detail and conscientious nature.
5. Experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
7. Willingness to travel when required.
8. Knowledge of tendering processes (e.g. NHS England Commissioning).
9. Proactive, self-starter with the ability to manage workload autonomously.
10. Strong team player with the ability to manage individual tasks.
11. Experience in business development and obtaining business intelligence.
12. Experience working with and maintaining AI technology.
13. Background in healthcare or regulated sectors.
