Senior Tax Manager

You’re a tax expert with significant experience working in a UK and ideally international business. You’ll enjoy managing various aspects of tax and have experience of dealing with tax authorities and tax compliance.

We are looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join the team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to take the lead and step up into their first people management role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Impact the job has on the business: Significant, directly impacts the tax risks and costs to the business.
• Manage all corporate tax, to deliver timely and accurate filing of all necessary returns and payment of liabilities to avoid financial penalties and inspections for the group (excluding US) supported by local finance teams and global tax advisers as required.
• Support the business to ensure that tax issues arising from commercial decisions are identified and addressed and tax issues resolved.
• Notify all disclosable matters and respond to tax enquiries in a full and timely manner to maintain a positive working relationship with tax authorities.
• Maintain transfer pricing policies the group ensuring alignment with Group transfer pricing policies.
• Report, monitor and document as required to ensure the accounting of intra-company transactions are in accordance with agreed TP policies.
• Ensure inter-company agreements are maintained and in line the transfer pricing position.
• Ensure local files are prepared in line with risk assessments supported by external advisers as required. Including preparation of the group Master file.
• Ensure Country by Country reporting requirements are met for the group, including preparation of the group report and notifications globally.
• Manage relationship with external statutory auditors.
• Manage SAO compliance process for the group. Manage groups WHT obligations. Management of our global tax advisers.
• Recommend and implement changes to tax systems, formal procedures, processes, and administration of tax services to drive improvement to current and future ways of working in line with agreed outcomes.

Requirements & Experience:

• 4-7 years of experience in Corporate Tax experience is required.
• CTA qualification is required.
• Experience of Aplatax and Oracle, SAP or Sage.
• Tax specialist requires expert knowledge which is consistently used.
• Significant influencing of complex stakeholder group required.
• Works with autonomy and supports the development and direction of the team.
• Significant knowledge of tax regulations.
• Good management and financial accounting knowledge.
• Excellent report writing, correspondence and negotiation skills.
• Experience of direct dealing and negotiation with tax authorities.
• Strong analytical and economic analysis skills for data interpretation.
