EA to General Counsel (12 month FTC)

An incredible, career boosting opportunity has arisen to support the General Counsel (12 months FTC) of one of the country’s best known insurance firms. This is an exciting opportunity as the General Counsel has just joined the firm – meaning you can work together to make a real impact. The role focuses on managing the daily operations of the General Counsel so we need a candidate that is adept at handling ever changing priorities in a fast paced environment.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Complex diary management – acting as a gatekeeper and ensuring that deadlines are always met and responses are efficient
  • Managing daily operations of the office by working closely with the business manager
  • Dealing with sensitive information and maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality
  • Maintaining excellent relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Preparing the General Counsel for meetings – ensuring that the relevant research, briefing papers, and action points are delivered on time
  • Assisting with projects and communications
  • Supporting the functions leadership team meeting and offsites. This involves preparing agendas, producing minutes and tracking deliverables
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the company’s strategy to help with objectives, strategies and performance

Candidate profile:

  • Operationally minded and general commercial awareness – able to get involved with the business strategies
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude – able to work under time pressure to meet deadlines
  • Previous experience working at NED/board level
  • Ability to create and maintain excellent professional relationships
  • Detail-oriented
