Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Birmingham office.

About this opportunity:

We have a phenomenal opportunity within Corporate & Institutional Banking for an experienced Team Product Owner to join us. The purpose of this specialist role is to focus on the product ownership for our Trade Finance products.

Do you have excellent knowledge of Investment Banking, Markets technology, and Trade Lifecycle capabilities associated with Markets? This could be the role for you!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the development of Team goals and turning points and provide product performance and benefits realisation data.
  • Working with Customer Journey Manager to analyse user stories for customer journey improvements. Defining user-stories at Team level to meet customer needs.
  • Providing input into overall Product vision and Product roadmap.
  • Prioritise, refine and manage Team Product backlog and investigate incidents to develop contingency plans.
  • Accountable for Product change governance (e.g., CMIA / SPFIA) and Business Readiness activities (e.g., training and comms, testing and readiness for implementation) for your respective features, journeys or technology components.
  • Implement development frameworks for your area, coach and mentor others in the organisation and work with Integrators when change is particularly large.

What you’ll need:

  • Confirmed experience within the Capital Markets or Trade Finance technical landscape with a strong understanding of the Trade Finance lifecycle, and associated products.
  • Knowledge of the technical and application interdependencies in the wider technical estate along with transformation and migration experience across applications and the markets' technology stack.
  • Experience of product ownership or project management in sophisticated transformations.
  • Proven track record of senior integration work across Capital Markets within a financial institution.
  • Strong Risk Management experience.
  • Capable of building relationships with senior stakeholders and excellent vendor leadership skills.
