Town Planner - Manchester Office

My client, a leading consultancy in the planning and development sector, is currently seeking a skilled and dynamic Town Planner to join their team based out of their Manchester office. The company is known for providing expert planning services to a diverse range of clients, ensuring high-quality outcomes and sustainable developments across various sectors.

Role Overview: As a Town Planner, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of planning services, including preparing planning applications, conducting site assessments, and engaging with stakeholders. The Town Planner will play a key role in providing advice and support throughout the development process, ensuring compliance with local and national planning regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and submit planning applications for a variety of development projects.
  2. Conduct site assessments and provide advice on planning matters.
  3. Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and clients to ensure smooth project progression.
  4. Assist in the preparation of planning reports and technical documents.
  5. Stay updated on current planning policies and legislation.
  6. Support senior planners in managing projects and meeting deadlines.
  7. Provide guidance and support to clients, offering innovative solutions to planning challenges.

Requirements:
  1. A degree in Town Planning or a related field (RTPI accreditation is desirable).
  2. Relevant experience in planning, with a strong understanding of planning legislation and policy.
  3. Experience with planning applications, site assessments, and stakeholder engagement.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
