Plant Fitter

Due to continued growth and investment, we have a new and exciting opportunity for a Plant Fitter to join our Quarry Division at Longhoughton Quarry, on a full-time and permanent basis. This will be a mobile role and your day will usually commence at our Quarry at Longhoughton, Alnwick.

As part of our team of skilled fitters, you will carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs to all of the quarry Division's assets such as FELs, dumpers, excavators, mobile crushers and screens. As a member of MGL Group, you will be committed to ensuring safe working conditions, and in all areas of legislation relevant to your role. Critical is ensuring the provision of high standards of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality and adherence with all company principles, procedures and relevant regulations.

Hours of work typically involve working Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings when required. Good rates of pay, regular overtime and benefits are offered with an immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities

• Time-served / Completed a relevant apprenticeship and qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification in a mechanically based discipline.
• Full clean driving license
• Flexible to allow varied work patterns to meet the needs of the business from time to time
• Strong commitment toward safe working practices
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Operate as part of the team in the workshop, harnessing a working environment which encourages teamwork
• The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience working in a similar industry environment undertaking tasks comparable to the role
• Self-motivated – improvement orientated with a desire to undertake any other relevant training deemed necessary to enhance performance

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 in Plant Maintenance or hold an equivalent qualification in a mechanically based discipline
• Plant Fitting: 3 years (preferred)
• Driving Licence (required)
