Director of Development and Communications, PROSPECTUS

Prospectus is excited to be partnering with a national employment and education charity in the search for a new Director of Development and Communications to lead income generation and communications for this impactful organisation.

This organisation is the only charity in the UK dedicated to career changers in teaching. They are experts in reaching this group and supporting them to succeed in the profession. They prepare recruits before training, provide 1-1 support as they train and connect them together in a national network. Over the last three years, teacher vacancies more than doubled and this charity is aiming to support closing this gap by recruiting over 1,000 new teachers over the next five years.

As the Director of Development and Communications, you will join a collaborative and proactive Executive Team and be responsible for fundraising and engagement activity. A leading and strategic role, this post will set and deliver a new fundraising and communications strategy to achieve sustainable income generation growth and wider engagement with various audiences. With a particular focus on growing high value income streams for the organisation and testing new fundraising areas, this role will bring innovative thinking and grow the team to deliver a successful fundraising and communications strategy.

To be successful as the Director of Development and Communications, you will have proven experience of setting fundraising strategy and working with small teams to deliver successful income generation growth. You will have evidence of working with various donor and engagement audiences, particularly major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. This person will need to demonstrate an understanding and some experience within communications, ideally showcasing knowledge of how fundraising and communications support one another.

This role is a full-time permanent position that will be remote with occasional travel to London. The salary for this position is £65,000 to £70,000.
