Job description

Based in London, the Optical Lab Technician will be joining an exciting new start-up. This position is Hybrid and will focus on the development of disruptive technologies for HPC, AI / ML Technologies.

The Lab Technician will be responsible for lab-based work focused on electronics, optics/photonics, networks, systems, and software. Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Lab Facilities management
  2. Health and Safety
  3. PAT Testing
  4. RF and Optical Test and Measurement (Control / Automation of)
  5. ESD/EMC
  6. Assembly/soldering
  7. COSH

The successful candidate should hold a good relevant degree or 5 years experience working in a lab. Please note this role isn't open to fresh Graduates, unless PhD qualified. Additional experience requirements include:

  • Competent in handling optical fibres and optoelectronic devices
  • Advanced Semiconductor / Optical Test and measurement
  • Assembly / Soldering
  • Python/C/Matlab Programming with Linux as beneficial

The salary on offer is £40k - £60k, along with share options and private medical.
